Though the Suda manuscripts give the headword name as Sostris, it is clear from
pi 671 and
sigma 268 (not to mention external evidence) that one should emend to Sesostris. See generally
Herodotus 2.102-110, and A.B. Lloyd in OCD4 p.1356 ("Though based on several rulers of the Twelfth Dynasty called Senwosret, he ultimately became an embodiment of the ideal of Egyptian kingship much used in nationalist propaganda").
