The headword is present active participle, nominative singular masculine, of *
sai/rw, the verb that also supplies the headwords of
sigma 262 and
sigma 263. The first part of the entry gives the nominative and the genitive singular forms of the participle, which establishes the paradigm, so it is questionable whether either form is extracted from a particular literary source, yet the gloss that follows is specifically in the genitive case. Philo Judaeus,
Embassy to Gaius 353.2, but for the Suda more customary sources would include

aliter 'differently'; and for unspecified reasons she attributes it (or at least some of it) to the
Synagoge.
