Ambrosian Lexicon (888) and also for the rest of the entry (912). The (unglossed) primary headword itself would appear to be upper-case, i.e. the masculine nominative singular of the ethnikon of
Syene, on the R. Nile near
Elephantine (
Herodotus 2.28.2, etc.); cf. Barrington Atlas map 81 grid C1.
[2] Addendum (copied from the end of
sigma 1318) lacking, Adler reports, in mss AF. It seems more likely that
sui/+nh -- otherwise unattested -- is the feminine nominative singular of the adjective
su/i+nos "porcine." See also
