[Meaning he/she/it] diverts, proceeds indirectly, just like nea/zei ["is/acts young"] and xroni/zei ["spends time, lingers"] and r(a|qumei= ["relaxes, is lazy"].[1]
"[Why do] you lurk continually around the door.[?]" The 'continually' is an Attic superfluity; but kupta/zeis ["you lurk" is used] meaning you loiter and you waste time.[2]
Also [sc. attested is the middle voice] strageu/omai, [meaning] I postpone, I waste time. So once, he is saying, it has been decided, why do I put off, and hesitate, and waste time, and shirk?[3]

[1] Likewise in the Synagoge (sigma243) and Photius' Lexicon (sigma598 Theodoridis), and similiarly elsewhere, including a scholion on Aristophanes, Clouds 131 (see further below) and (as far as 'proceeds indirectly') Hesychius sigma1956. (It is the Suda, however, which adds 'and' before 'you waste time'.) Some scholars would emend the first glossing synonym from diaba/llei to a)naba/llei "postpones". The headword itself, evidently quoted from somewhere, is third person singular, present indicative active, of strageu/w or straggeu/w (a verb more often used in the middle voice: see LSJ).
