Also[3] [sc. attested is] faction-member [stasiotes]: Antiphon in the [speech] On the Revolution [writes]: "so concerning the accusations Apolexis has made, that I myself was a faction-member, and my grandfather".[4] The orator here appears to have applied the word in a special sense to mean bodyguard; at any rate in what follows he says that his ancestors would not have been able to punish those acting as tyrants while unable [to punish] their bodyguards.
