r(a/ttw. According to LSJ, the alpha is probably long by nature, since the Ionic form is
r(h/ssw (also in Koine). In that case, the aorist infinitive would be expected to have a circumflex accent (
r(a=cai).
[2] Taken by some to mean
Apollodorus of
Athens FGrH 244 (F270, contextless); however, there were also 2 comic poets of this name, A. of
Gela (
alpha 3405) and A. of
Karystos, and the latter has been invoked here (fr. 22 Kock, now 23 K.-A.). For the sense, compare
