[Meaning] bald.
*yiloko/rhs: falakro/s.
Same entry in other lexica, though there is confusion about the authentic form of the headword adjective. Kuster wanted to emend the Suda's
yiloko/rhs (
yiloku/rhs, Adler reports, in ms F) to
yiloko/rrhs (the reading of
Hesychius and
Photius) or
yiloko/rshs. The adjective is attested in
Callimachus,
Iambi fr. 191.29 Pfeiffer (where Pfeiffer advances the possibility that the ultimate origin of the word is Attic comedy; now
Comica adespota fr. 441 Kassel-Austin). LSJ entry (s.v.
yiloko/rshs) at web address 1.
cf. generally
psi 73.
