*parwrei/a.
According to LSJ s.v.,
parw/reia (
sic: proparoxytone) means "a district on the side of a mountain." Especially common, in this sense, in
Polybius. But the headword also occurs as a proper name, e.g. in
Stephanus of
Byzantium s.v. ("a city of Arcadia"), citing
Nicolaus of Damascus, and in ps.-Herodian. Cf.
paro/rion at
pi 699.
