[Meaning] of the dance of the maidens.
*parqenw=nos: tou= tw=n parqe/nwn xorou=.
An inscrutable entry (also, according to Adler, in the
Ambrosian Lexicon). The headword, in the genitive singular, must be quoted from somewhere; but perhaps 'dance' is a mistake.
There is no good reason to think that this has anything to do with *the* Parthenon, the temple of the virgin goddess Athena in
Athens (
epsilon 368); for the word in a domestic context see LSJ s.v.
