As a single word like this the headword is attested, outside lexicography, only twice, in the Sacra parallela of John of Damascus (PG 95.1173 and 96.141). Theodoridis, however, while printing the single-word lemma, regards it as the prepositional phrase par' e(/kasta, perhaps quoted from the Septuagint (2 Maccabees 10.13, 3 Maccabees 3.23) or Polybius (3.57.4).
