Aristophanes in
Anagyrus [says]: "but everyone should bathe together and share the sponges."[1] That is, [the poor] should go in with the rich, so that they need not take sponges but use theirs.

Other lexica too characterise this as proverbial (references at
Photius pi267), but it is not in most of the the collections. Compare in any event
