What the Suda presents as a two-word headword phrase, pu=r pala/mh, should actually be a single-word adjective. Photius, whose entry (pi1570 Theodoridis) is otherwise the same as the present one, gives it as purpala/mhn; Pindar has an instance of purpa/lamos (of a thunderbolt), for which cf. also Hesychius.
