*pukinh/: puknh/. lamba/netai de\ kai\ a)nti\ tou= dunath/. tau=ta diaith=sai pukinh/.
[1] Likewise in
Erotianus 110.4 Klein, and ps.-Herodian,
Epimerismi 115; similarly in
Hesychius and elsewhere. The headword is nominative singular feminine of the adjective
pukino/s, which is a variant for the more common
puknh/ (used here as the glossing word) that often occurs in hexameter poetry for metrical purposes. Perhaps from commentary on
Homer, where the headword occurs frequently (e.g.
Iliad 2.55), although only once (
Iliad 24.80) in the form given here. (For related words, see all the other entries between
pi 3142 and
pi 3155, inclusive.)
[2] An unidentifiable fragment of hexameter poetry.
