(The era-date of the Pythian games was 582 BCE.) The sense of the Sophocles passage itself is somewhat obscured here, first by the Suda compiler's decision to quote only line 682 (thus missing out the genitive, at the end of 681, that actually goes with pro/sxhm': 'of Greece') and then by Adler's punctuation with a comma after a)gw=nos. The full passage translates as: "coming to the renowned ornament of Hellas, for the sake of a contest of Delphic prizes".
