Athens].[1] [sc. Named] after Peiritho(u)s, the son of Ixion.[2] There was a custom at
Athens to receive, as foreign guests, Greeks who wanted [sc. to live there]; and they made a point of accepting Thessalians because of the ties of friendship between Peiritho(u)s and Theseus. For these [Thessalians] they also allocated territory, which they called Perithoidai.
Ephorus tells the story in [his volume] 3.[3]
