Et.Gud. offers the variant foino/n ['purplish', 'bloody'] in place of the fo/nos ['murder'] found in the Synagoge, Photius and the Suda, and the scholia to Lycophron and Et.Mag. offer the variant purrw/sw ['I will make ruddy'] in place of purw/sw ['I will inflame']. This form of the verb foini/ssw, future indicative or aorist subjunctive active first person singular, is presumably quoted from somewhere but is unattested outside lexica and scholia.
