Name of a money-trafficker.
*fla/bios: o)/noma xrhmatismou=.
Likewise in
Photius'
Lexicon (phi215 Theodoridis). The transmitted text reads "name of a negotiation", which makes no sense; in any case, by a change of a single letter in the Greek (t rather than m) one gets not
xrhmatismou= but, as in some versions of the
Synagoge,
xrhmatistou= (translated here); cf. generally
chi 487.
With that correction, the individual who has prompted the entry is surely Flavius Sabinus, the father of the emperor Vespasian (
omicron 833); on his financial activities see e.g.
Suetonius,
Divus Vespasianus 1.2-4 (web address 1).
