sileu/s), 'king of Persians', as an addendum in ms V. Nevertheless this entry surely refers to Philotas the Macedonian noble, son of Parmenion (
pi 676); commander of the Companion cavalry during the early campaigns of Alexander the Great, but tortured and executed in 330 BCE when suspected of treason. See generally OCD(4) s.v.
