Adler number: omega,274
Translated headword: ophein

Translation: Meaning I/they saw. o)/fin, w)/fein, o)dwdo/ta.
Greek Original:*)/wfein: a)nti\ tou= ei)=don. o)/fin w)/fein o)dwdo/ta.
Note:
This entry is quite mysterious. The headword is no known form of a verb meaning "see"; and what follows, which might naturally have been expected to be a quotation illustrating it, is equally impenetrable. Certainly o)/fin is the accusative singular of o)/fis "snake", and o)dwdo/ta is a perfect participle, in the accusative case, of o)/zw "smell"; but is w)/fein a verb governing them? To judge from ps-Herodian (its only other occurrence) it might actually be a variant of o)/fin.
