[1] i.e. Stephanus of Byzantium (Ethnica) [see under epsilon 3048]; he himself cites Philistus FGrH 556 F27 (where the second vowel of the toponym is omicron, not omega.) It was somewhere in the west of the island but cannot be exactly located.
