Aorist active participle of metewri/zw (cf. mu 766), masculine nominative plural. Evidently quoted from somewhere: perhaps Procopius, History of the Wars of Justinian 8.35.30 (so Toup, noted by Adler), but there are other possibilities, including Arrian, Anabasis 2.21.7.
