Pindar [sc. says this].[1] ['Lordly' meaning] strong, powerful, giving of manliness; since gold is very powerful. For it is said to be the sinews of war, as
Pindar says.[2]

Heraclias 1.163-4. George's lines contain the phrase
neu=ra th=s ma/xhs ["sinews of battle"] with reference to wealth; "
Pindar" in the present entry is thus surely an error for Pisides.
