*mugdo/nios.
A marginal addition in ms A.
Though the headword is attested as -- apparently -- a proper name in
Polyaenus 7.36, its appearance here is probably
qua 'denizen of Mygdonia' (as in e.g. Lucian,
On Sacrifices 10).
Stephanus of
Byzantium s.v. Mygdonia recognizes two areas of this name, one in Macedon (N of Chalkidike) and one in
Phrygia (S of the Propontis). A third, in
Mesopotamia, is attested elsewhere.
