A proper name.
*mo/naisos: o)/noma ku/rion.
Its form here, Monaisos, is unattested outside lexicography, and is very probably a non-existent nominative formed from a genitive Monaisou. Monaises, a prominent Parthian of the latter C1 BCE, appears in
Plutarch (
Life of Antony) and
Cassius Dio.
