*moloqro/s
Adler number: mu,1196
Translated headword: tall (?)
Vetting Status: high
Translation: [no gloss]
Greek Original:*moloqro/s.
Notes:
This unglossed headword seems to be an adjective (not in LSJ), here in the masculine nominative singular. It occurs in the feminine accusative singular in Apollonius' Homeric Lexicon (51.33-34), apparently as a synonym of blwqrh/n "tall", with the further glossing phrase th\n ei)s to\ a)/nw moli/skein qoru/zousan "she who leaps to go up" (where qoru/zousan is a fictional form of qrw/|skw, and moli/skw is a hypothetical present of blw/skw, corresponding to the aorist e)/molon.)
cf. Philoxenos fr. 64* Theodoridis, and Etymologicum Gudianum beta275.
Keywords: dialects, grammar, and etymology; epic
