[Meaning] pledges/securities. As lusima ["redeemable things"] and lutrosima ["ransomable things"].
*lu/mata: e)ne/xura. oi(=on lu/sima kai\ lutrw/sima.
Neuter plural(s).
LSJ s.v.
lu/ma B records this meaning of the word only for the Suda (as distinct from its normal meaning in
lambda 834). As a verbal noun, it would be derived from
lu/w "loosen" rather than
lumai/nw "spoil". The same definition occurs in
Photius lambda484, and Theodoridis connects it there to
e)ne/xura lu/sima "redeemable pledges" in
Plato,
Laws 820E. (The word occurs in
Photius near to where, alphabetically,
lu/sima would occur, which might suggest it was originally a gloss on
lu/sima.)
