Outside lexicography, the term is attested in e.g. a proverb-collection attributed to Plutarch (where only Rhodes, not Knidos, is mentioned) and in ps.-Scylax, Periplous 62 (a variant tradition naming Erineos, Boion and Kytinion, in Doris, central Greece).
