A misunderstanding by the lexicographer, or rather by his source, a scholiast on Aristophanes, Lysistrata 202: (one woman to another) "put this [bowl] down and take hold of the boar". Especially when accompanied by suitable gestures, demonstrative pronouns in comedy and elsewhere -- grasp this, look at that, etc. -- obviously lend themselves to simple sexual double entendre. Lines 181-239 of the Lysistrata, however, concern an oath by the conspirators, normally to be solemnized by a blood-sacrifice into a shield but here, for farcical purposes, by spurts from various containers of wine. In this context the "boar" -- a regular victim in such sacrifices -- is the jar of Thasian wine whose "slaughter" has been mentioned at line 196.
