The headword is otherwise unattested in this nominative form, but cf. under kappa 1446. It is translated here as though it were related to the word more commonly spelled kubi=ton ('cubit'); cf. Etymologicum Magnum 543.6. (At Photius, Lexicon kappa1153 Theodoridis the editor departs from previous editions by printing the headword as ku/biton, not the transmitted ku/bhtton.)
