kwxeu/ei is an incorrect reading for
o)kwxeu/ei "holds" in
Sophocles fr.327. ps.-Herodian and
Hesychius kappa4904 gloss it as
metewri/zei, fe/rei, koufi/zei "lifts up, carries, makes light".
Hesychius kappa4905 quotes the Sophoclean fragment (from his
Kamikioi), with the plural
kwxeu/ousin glossed
o)xou=si, metewri/zousi "they transport, they lift up" (gloss also in the
Etymologicum Gudianum).
Hesychius also has
o)kwxeu/ein glossed with
e)/xein, sune/xein "to have, to hold".
