'Bell' is also the name for the broad part of a trumpet. Sophocles [writes]: "of a bronze-mouthed bell". There are many kind of trumpet: Libyan, Egyptian, Etruscan. Archondas, when an ally of the Herakleidai, was the first to introduce the Etruscan trumpet to the Greeks. That is why [Sophocles] says "Etruscan".[2]
