kombo/w "bind, fasten",
kombi/on "buckle", and
ko/mbos and
e)gko/mbwma "band for gloves" (see under
kappa 1987). LSJ extrapolates from the gloss that this is an "ornamental band".
In
Hesychius, the singular of this noun is glossed as "garment; tumour" (kappa3433) and the plural, even more mystifyingly, as "those having [?] for a short time in rods by leaves" (kappa3437; Latte obelizes both 'time' and 'leaves').
