Same entry in Pausanias the Atticist kappa37 and Photius kappa887 Theodoridis. Hesychius kappa3368 refers instead to a "blind" wave, and the scholiast ad loc. refers to a "maimed" kolobo/n wave, "which they call 'blind' because it does not splash". The scholiast adds: "or, rolling and threatening. A high and large wave, rolling after it has been brought to a head. And this is with regard to the wind." The scholia vetera to Homer, Iliad 13.472 suppose that ko/lon in kolosurto/n and kolo/kuma means "large".
