Note that Parisinus 2626 (Adler's A), which is one of the oldest manuscripts and generally reliable, has the variant tou=ton (accusative singular) for tou/tou (genitive singular) in the other mss. If A's reading is correct, the translation would be: "when caught out being ill-disposed, this man was driven off with his wife and children".
