Polybios fr. 174 Büttner-Wobst. Büttner-Wobst notes (537) that Ursinus (Fulvio Orsini, 1529-1600) attributed this fragment to
Polybios. Schweighäuser suggested (ibid.) that the subject of the fragment could be Publius Sulpicius Galba, who was stationed at
Naupaktos (Naupactus, on the southern Aetolian coast, Barrington Atlas map 55 grid B4) in 209 BCE and commanded the Roman navy in the region from 210-205 (Walbank, 753).
