The headword h)/dee is the epic/Ionic form for the first glossing word h|)/dei – pluperfect of the verb oi)=da; it is frequently used in Homer and Herodotus, and in several imitators of the epic style. The rest of the occurrences are in Homeric quotations or commentaries.
