The primary headword h)/negkon is used as an aorist for fe/rw; the gloss treats it as if were an imperfect from a present e)ne/gkw, which is attested only as the aorist subjunctive of h)/negkon. This aorist has both thematic (second aorist) forms and forms with alpha. In the first person singular, both h)/negkon and h)/negka occur in Attic; in the second person, the Attic form is always h)/negkas.
