The headword is the rare adjective ei)da/limos, here in the feminine accusative plural; quoted from Homer, Odyssey 24.279 (web address 1). LSJ translates the adjective as if from ei)=dos "appearance"; the scholiast translates it as if from oi)=da "I know." In context there, either interpretation is possible; but for the former cf. epsiloniota 19 (and Greek Anthology 7.491.4).
