Translation: [Abandonment] and [sc. also attested is] 'he/she/it abandoned': each of these is applied to the diapsephiseis[1] which take place in the [sc. Athenian] demes concerning those being entered on the deme register. All those who are challenged as being non-citizens face the charges, and the demesmen vote on them; anyone who does not turn up to be judged has 'abandoned' the decision on him. And this is called 'abandonment'.[2]
The eclipse of the sun when it is being obscured by the moon appears to take place distinctly. See under diafane/s.[3]
