Headword: NONE
Adler number: epsilon,3549
Translated headword: prayed-for
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning something] worthy of prayer, precious, sound.[1]
"Both of you dined with me before; for I happen to sacrifice prayed-for [= votive] offerings, and go fetch the slaves, as well as those of the friends that you need".[2]
Also [sc. attested is the masculine] eu)ktai=os.
Greek Original:
#
Notes:
[1] The headword eu)ktai=on [not showing in the SOL] has the same glossing, variously, in other lexica and must be quoted from somewhere. As glossed, it is neuter nominative/accusative singular (rather than masculine accusative singular) of this adjective. For its opposite see alpha 3095.
[2] Tentatively attributed by Adler to Iamblichus; now Iamblichus, Babyloniaca fr. 43 Habrich.

NB this is Adler's epsilon 3549a. Here, faute de mieux, is 3549b:
*eu)kth/monos: plousi/ou.
Of a wealthy [man]: [meaning] of a rich [one].
The headword -- here in the genitive case and so evidently quoted from somewhere -- is best attested as a proper name, Euktemon, but for the adjectival sense see e.g. Pindar, Nemeans 7.92.
