[Meaning] until opportune times.
*)es a)w/ras: ei)s kairou/s.
An entry broadly similar to
epsilon 3117, but opaque. In this instance neither the transmitted headword phrase
in toto nor the accusative plural form of the noun involved (cf.
gamma 112),
a)w/ras, are attested elsewhere. In
Hesychius and ps.-
Zonaras the headword phrase is transmitted as a single word,
e)saw/ras, but that is no help.
Latte on
Hesychius s.v. notes the emendation of 'Salmasius' (Claude of Saumur, 1588-1653) to
e)s w(/ras. If adopted, the entry would be out of alphabetical order; nevertheless, that phrase might be quoted from one of the
Homeric Hymns (26.12).
