Headword: *)eripou=sa
Adler number: epsilon,3005
Translated headword: tumbling down
Vetting Status: high
Translation:
[Meaning she] falling.[1]
For e)ripw= [is] perispomenon.[2]
Greek Original:
*)eripou=sa: pesou=sa. *)eripw= ga\r perispwme/nws.
Notes:
[1] The headword is intransitive aorist participle of e)rei/pw, feminine nominative singular. Same glossing in Hesychius epsilon5879 and in a scholion on Homer, Iliad 5.357, where it occurs (of Aphrodite falling to her knees: web address 1). (Hesychius epsilon5887 has a broadly similar entry for e)ripw/n.)
[2] Likewise, according to Adler, in the Ambrosian Lexicon (2042). The second aorist participle (with accent on the suffix) is reinterpreted as the present participle of a contract verb e)ripo/w (noted in LSJ s.v. as an equivalent of e)rei/pw, but nowhere substantively attested).
