Greek Original:*)epitolmh=sai: dotikh=|. e)pibouleu/sasqai. kai\ a)napei/qei e)pitolmh=sai tw=| *luki/dh| kai\ tw=| *swsibi/w|, e)pai/rei de\ a(/te forthgou\s toiou=tos r(a=|sta/ te a)napei/qei, kai\ nukto\s genome/nhs a)kra/tou.
Notes:
[1] The headword, presumably extracted from the quotation given, is aorist active infinitive of the compound verb
e)pitolma/w. For another instance of it with the dative see under
alpha 4218.
[2]
Aelian fr. 262 Hercher, 260 Domingo-Forasté. (See also under
epsilon 2759.) Kuster suggested emending the nominative singular
toiou=tos to the accusative plural
toiou/tous, which would render the second part as "and he flatters them, being merchants of such a sort.". Adler did not follow this, but did adopt Bernhardy's expansion of the second name given, transmitted (and printed by Hercher) as Sos.
