Zonaras.
The headword is third person singular, present indicative middle, of the verb
e)pite/llw. Given the glossing, this must be LSJ's
e)pite/llw (A); cf.
epsilon 2676. (B commonly describes the rising of stars etc.; cf.
epsilon 2675.) It must be quoted from somewhere, but all extant instances of
e)pite/lletai (which begin with Hesiod,
Works and Days 567) appear to stem from
e)pite/llw (B), with the solitary exception of a semi-restored instance in a magical papyrus (K. Preisendanz & A. Henrichs,
Papyri Graecae magicae. Die griechischen Zauberpapyri vol.1 no.3 [=
P. Louvre 2391], line 228:
pe/lagos siga=[n e)pit]e/lletai).
