The transmitted headword purports to be the dative plural of e)peisfora/, a word not recognized by LSJ but arguably synonymous with ei)sfora/ (cf. epsiloniota 330). Outside lexicography, the word is attested only in Cyril of Alexandria (10 times) but not, apparently, with the connotation suggested by the gloss here. In any event, Theodoridis on Photius s.v. obelizes e)peisforai=s, regarding it as a corruption of e)piforai=s ('inflictions'): see epsilon 2751.
