= Synagoge epsilon611, Photius epsilon1428, in which one finds, as here, a pluperfect form of the verb punqa/nomai glossed with an aorist form of a)kou/w; cf. Hesychius omicron1692, where the headword and gloss are prefixed with the word 'not' (ou)) as is appropriate to the Homeric context (see below), and the gloss is the pluperfect form of a)kou/w. See also Lexica Segueriana 227.21, which uses the imperfect form of the gloss rather than the aorist. Adler also cites Anecdota Oxoniensia 2.438.27.
All are probably drawn (perhaps independently) from commentary to Homer, where the headword occurs both with the epsilon augment, as here (e.g. Iliad 13.674 -- regarded by Latte and Theodoridis as the catalyst for these entries), and without (e.g. Iliad 13.521). On the latter cf. pi 1027. See also the scholia to Iliad 11.498, where both the headword and the present gloss (without the nu-moveable) are used as glosses for a third word (pu/qeto).
In earlier literature the headword is attested only in Homer (and in the Homeric Hymn to Apollo 97), but makes its way frequently into the prose of the Roman and Byzantine periods.
