Adler number: epsilon,1551
Translated headword: unfolding
Vetting Status: high
Translation: [Meaning] doubling, multiplying. Meaning which would you choose, if someone should give you a choice, grieving your friends yourself to live in pleasure, or to share everything and not to grieve your friends? He says [this] about Ajax: "that man, when he was in his disease, himself took pleasure in the misfortunes by which he was held, but being with us he gave distress to us who were in our right minds. But now, as he has ceased and recovered from his disease, that man is altogether driven by wretched grief, but we likewise [suffer] not less than before. He is unfolding these evils twice, is he not?"

Note:
Sophocles,
Ajax 271-277 (web address 1), with scholion on 265 (sic). Line 277 reads
a)=r' e)/sti tau=ta di\s to/s' e)c a(plw=n kaka/; "Surely, then, these are two sorrows, instead of one?" (Jebb); so the Suda's headword, glossed as if it were a present participle in the masculine nominative singular, should actually be a two-word prepositional phrase.
