[Meaning they] fixing on.[1] Also [sc. attested is] e)nerei/sas ["having thrust in"], [meaning he] having fixed on.
*)enerei/dontes: e)mphgnu/ntes. kai\ *)enerei/sas, e)mph/cas.
Both of these participles also in
Hesychius and other lexica, with the same glossing. They must be quoted from somewhere; perhaps from Cyril of Alexandria, who uses each of them several times, including once in the same work (
Against Julian 1.1 and 1.6).
[1] Masculine nominative plural, present active participle, of
e)nerei/dw.
[2] Masculine nominative singular, aorist active participle, of the same verb; cf.
epsilon 1318.
