Same entry in other lexica, including Photius delta501 Theodoridis. Hesychius delta1466 had also associated dia/xusis and xara/ but within a gloss which as a whole seems to be very different: dia/xusis: e)/kstasis u(/datos. xara/. su/gxusis (“diachysis: movement of water. Delight. Confusion”). Latte considers the gloss a Cyrillian interpolation, and in fact the lemma is extensively used in Patristic literature.
On the other hand, note that, in Ammonius Grammaticus, De affinium vocabulorum differentia 510.3, we have the correspondence between dia/xusis, xara/ and te/ryis: xara\ me\n ga/r e)sti pro/sfatos yuxh=s e)/parsis kai\ dia/xusis…te/ryis de\ oi)onei\ tre/yis kai\ yuxagogi/a a)po\ tou= a)hdou=s e)pi\ to\ krei=sson (“*xara/ is a fresh elation and relaxation [dia/xusis] in the soul…., and enjoyment [te/ryis] is like transforming and attracting the soul from an unpleasant feeling to a better one”). If one accepts the hypothesis of Theodoridis about the relationship between the Suda and Photius (see bibliography), this could mean the derivation of the gloss from Diogenian or other similar material, excerpted by Photius and transmitted to the Suda.
