That is, sleek.[3] Thus in the present case too the young man is saying that he fears being scorned by those who concern themselves with horsemanship "if I, neglecting the beautification of my body and abandoning the habits of the horsemen, go over to the philosophers."[4] And in Clouds: "for I could not bear for the horsemen to see me with my complexion worn-away."[5]
